Round 1 of the $10,000 2026 Racing Victoria Off The Track Dressage series at Boneo Park delivered some impressive results. It also showcased just how successfully these former racehorses have stepped into new careers in dressage!
In the first round, which was held at the Boneo Summer Dressage Championships in January, we witnessed some truly standout performances. Partnerships are strengthening, confidence is building…The leader board is a testament to the success of the Off The Track program!

The Preliminary Championship is still anybodyโs to win! ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ ridden by Chelsie Hanna leads on 195.818, with ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฑ (Laura Clark) close behind on 193.945. Just 1.873 points separate the top two! ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฏ๐ ๐ (racing name: Dagwood) ridden by Jenna Mahoney sits third on 187.968.
With just under eight points covering the top three, the Preliminary Championship is highly competitive, and one strong performance in the next round could easily reshape the standings.

In the Novice Championship, ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ (racing name: Woolay) & Nini Frenzel, who put in a strong performance in last yearโs Preliminary Championship, are currently in the lead this year’s Novice Championship. Whilst ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฒ & Grace Imrie, winners of the 2025 Preliminary Series, have also moved up in class and are now sitting in second place in the 2026 Novice Series. Clearly their success last year was no one-off!

In the Elementary Championship, ๐๐ถ๐ป๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ฆ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ & Mariah Kaminski return as defending champions. After January’s first round, they are again leading the Elementary Series. However, ๐๐ณ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐น๐ถ๐ณ๐ฒ & Jessica Morrison, third in the series in 2025, are currently sitting in second place and closing in!
These horses, once known for their athleticism on the track, are now earning accolades for rhythm, balance, rideability and consistent performances in the arena, a powerful reminder of the versatility of the Thoroughbred and the opportunities beyond racing.
